Arsene Wenger may regret the decision to field an understrength side against Sevilla in the champions league. After suffering a loss Arsenal surrendered top spot in the group. This will give the gunners an unnecessary difficult draw. It may all be well to improve your youth players but not in a game which could bring their European adventure to a premature end. His track record of buying and improving youth players is unchallenged across Europe. he plucked Fabregas from Barcelona's youth system and turned him into one of the best midfielders in the world. Also Kolo Toure bought for hardly any money and is now one of the best defenders in the Premiership, if not Europe. Plantini's recent comments about Wenger's youth policy is quite sickening! For a man who help shape Henry into one of the greatest players of all time is blasphemy! Especially with Platini being French. Didn't really see him complain when Vieria and Henry helped to win France in the World cup. I don't understand why he has to put his nose in where it really isn't wanted. He has had his day. Let it go mate! Fair enough he was a fantastic player but his opinion are not really wanted to be honest. Reduce the amount of English teams in the champions league WHY! Well if Platini leaves Wenger alone maybe e will be able to get with his job and bring the title to the emirates for the first time.

Arsene makes a mistake
Arsene Wenger may regret the decision to field an understrength side against Sevilla in the champions league. After suffering a loss Arsenal surrendered top spot in the group. Fabio Capello - the right move?
Fabio Capello is set to be named the new England manager. He has a proven track record, and is internationally known as a winner. What happened to him at Real Madrid is anything short than disgusting!. Wins the league after one season in charge and then gets replaced. Players have been quoted saying he wont make us play fantastic football but will make u win. Personally i dont mind what type of football we play as long as we win. I would take a comprehensive 2-0 win over a thrilling 5-4 loss any day. The only lingering doubt i have about the Italian is that he hasn't experienced English football before. He has managed pretty much every other massive club across Europe but not in England. As he is only worthwhile candidate left, then why not. We could do alot worse. He could have Sven syndrome, fantastic club manager but a mediocre international manager. The daily interaction with players plays a big part. I have to say it may be a very difficult to make the transitions, maybe something like losing your car keys and having to walk your journey. The least we can do for this manager is give him a fair chance, judge him after a qualification campaign. Well lets hope he is prepared for constant abuse for the fantastic journalists in this country.

England in need of something special
There is now the faintest chance of chances for the special one to become our national coach. To be honest Jose's face (right) pretty much sums up my feelings about it. If he were to take over it would be a great day for all. not onl does he have a bigger ego than all the players in the dressing room but he some kind of football magican. Who takes a small team like Porto to Old Trafford and beats them? Not did he do that but he followed it up by winning the champions league. The year before he won the Uefa Cup with Porto while casually winning the Portuguese league both times. At Porto he created world class players such as carvalho and deco now at Chelsea and Barcelona respectively. Porto throughout those campaigns played with style and flair, picking teams apart almost.
Winning the title with chelsea in his first two seasons in charge, the first one almost at ease with his imaginative style of football. Free flowing and cutting teams to pieces, scoring almost at will. I reme, ber one performance against Norwich, yes i know Norwich, where they absolutely steamrolled over them without even breaking a sweat, the match finished 4-0 but could of and most probably should of been more.
Where Mclaren suffered so horribly, surely Mourinho will flourish. The previous manager failed to react tactically when England were 1-0 up in Russia, even if he wasnt helped out by Gerrard missing an absoulte sitter. Huddink made a sub which eventually won him the match. Jose wouldnt be afraid to pull big names out of the game in order to get a result.
No player would be a automatic choice, well maybe just one John Terry the captain. If Jose did step into the spotlight all of his former chelsea players would be elated and maybe would start to play well for thier country. Lampard's recent performance in the England shirt have been getting increasingly worse. How can a player who is the heartbeat of a double winning team play so badly for his country?. His performances warrant him a place in the squad thanks to his goals and assists but if he doesnt perform he should be on the bench and give someone else a chance.
Even with his dads blessing , he is still likely to join AC Milan, as he would prefer to manage a big club, CLUB being the key word here! Many players have also stated thier wish for Jose to take over. But as usual the FA are sitting on thier arse doing nothing. if anyone was to be sacekd after the Croatia game it should of been Brain Barwick. If i had one word to describe him, i think it would be twat.
If there was any God then Jose would take over, but as i have come to see with English sport is we get so close only to fall at the last, England Rugby team. Even under Sven at least we managed to reach the competition before we fell apart embarrisingly infront of the worlds eyes.
JOSE FOR ENGLAND.
The weekends football
Arsenal after starting the week with a possibility of having a six point lead over their nearest rivals had all but given their points gap after the defeat to Boro on Sunday afternoon. Their lead is now a single point. Arsene Wenger remains admanent that he would of taken this position at the beginning of the season. The lacklustre performance at the riverside ended a poor week for Arsenal. Manchester united continued thier sickening good form with a 4-1 demolition of Derby who are almost certainties to go down.
Blackburn suffered a surprise defeat at home to West ham who are showing steady improvement when Dean Asthon is fit and on the pitch.
Porstmouth at the moment seem unstoppable not even high flying Aston Villa could derail them. Portsmouth and Muntari in particular turned on the style at Villa park to complete a convincing 3-1 victory. If I was a betting man then I would place money on Portmouth getting into Europe this season.
This weekend saw another of the big four lose with a very pleasing defeat for Liverpool. This defeat was at the hands of the ever unpredictable Reading, one week a 7-4 loss the next a comfortable 2-0 win. Thanks to all of the millions of pounds Liverpool have spent they still lose middle of the table teams, it brings a smile to your face surely. Chelsea continued to grind out results under Avram Grant, a casual 2-0 win over Sunderland. They played well without breaking a sweat. Possibly the biggest shock of the weekend is that Shevchenko scored!!. Incredible!
A Last winner from Beye handed Big Sam a great end to a fantastic week. Yakubu had a fantastic match and scored "the perfect hatrick". Right foot, left foot and a header. Even if the first he scored was scuffed but hey they all count. Tottenham managed to beat Man CIty 2-1. This is after Chimbonda firstly pushed the ball into the goal, maybe this is karma after Keane was stupidly sent off against Birmingham. It was a probably deserved victory but City were reduced o 10 men after Irelnad was sent off after a horror challenge.
Thanks to Boros win it has opened up the title battle, with Man U looking favourites not only due to form but due to squad size. Arsenal have suffered due to injuries to kep player, Hleb and Fabregas. Any squad would suffer if they lost such creative talents from their first eleven
. Not only will it be great for Arsenal when these players return but also for he viewing public who can watch these geniuses at work. But for now the Premier League table makes for very interesting reading.
